Example to setup Outlook Express with AfterOffice service.

Email: johnliew@lookafter.com
POP3 and SMTP server: mail.lookafter.com
To setup your new account in Outlook Express, follow these steps:
Select
[Accounts…] from the
[Tools] menu in Outlook Express.
Click at the
[Add] button, and select
[Mail…].
Enter your full name, in this example “John Liew”, and click
[Next] when done.
Enter your full email, in this example “ johnliew@lookafter.com ”, click
[Next] when done.
Select
[POP3] in “My incoming mail server”, and enter your POP3 server. In this example, “mail.lookafter.com”. Enter your SMTP server, which is same as the POP3 server. Click
[Next] when done.
Enter your full email as the “Account name”, and enter the password here. Click
[Next] when done.
Click
[Finish] to confirm.
On the following window, click into
[Properties].
Go to the
Servers tab. Make sure that “My server requires authentication” is selected. (You may further click into
“Settings” to check if “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” is selected)
Go to the
Advanced tab. Make sure that the
“Outgoing mail (SMTP)“ is 587, and
“Incoming mail (POP3)“ is 110. Make sure that both “This server requires a secure connection (SSL)” is NOT selected.
Click [Apply] to save the settings and then [OK] to close this window.
Outlook Express is ready now. Click [Send/Recv] to start downloading emails from the mail server.
